The Challenge
Intellivo operates in one of the most complex domains in the world: the North American healthcare and insurance system — an ecosystem with thousands of actors, strict regulations, huge volumes of data and high requirements regarding accuracy and traceability. The platform had to manage multiple data streams coming from different sources, provide intelligent mechanisms for identification, mapping and control, and operate in a multi-tenant regime for multiple enterprise B2B clients. The main challenge: building a cloud-native solution that combines the native scalability of the cloud with the business logic specific to a highly regulated domain.
The Solution
We built a fully cloud-native multi-tenant platform, based on Microsoft Azure. The architecture uses Azure Service Bus for orchestrating data flows between components, Azure SQL for persistent storage of relational data, and Azure Function Apps for event-driven processing and serverless operations. This combination provides exactly the mix needed in a domain like this: asynchronous processing of large data volumes, automatic scaling based on load and optimized costs through on-demand consumption. On top of this infrastructure, we implemented the business logic for identifying, mapping and controlling the multiple data streams specific to the industry.
